Shrunken Head Torches

Are the torches weatherproof?

This is a new product for us. While we use materials designed for outdoor durability—including UV-resistant dyes and waterproof epoxy—we cannot yet guarantee performance in extreme weather conditions. Over time, the lifelike hair may tangle or mat. If extreme weather is forecast, we recommend storing the torch indoors. We are currently developing a solid resin hair option as an alternative.

What does presale mean?

Presale items are offered before they’re in stock. By ordering early, you’re reserving your piece ahead of production and delivery. Orders are generally filled within 2-3 weeks.

What drives the cost?

Our shrunken heads are functional art pieces, not mass-produced tiki torches from big-box stores. Originally carved, each piece is individually cast, hand-painted, and assembled. Despite the “company” name, it’s just my wife and me crafting each one by hand in our basement.

Is the hair fireproof?

The hair is made from a fine doll-hair filament. It will melt when exposed to heat but will not ignite under normal use. In our experience, only occasional stray strands may melt, if at all. That said, we strongly recommend keeping the wick trimmed short and avoiding use in windy conditions, as shifting flames may come into contact with the hair.

Can I get a solid bamboo pole?

Yes, but unless you’re local to the Detroit area, we don’t recommend it. Shipping oversized items like bamboo poles can be very expensive.

If I live locally can I pick up?

Absolutely! Place your order, and we’ll contact you with pickup details and refund the shipping cost.

Can I choose the stitching on my shrunken head?

Yes! After you place your order, we’ll reach out to discuss stitching options.

Can I order just the shrunken head?

Definitely. This option helps reduce shipping costs. The heads can be easily mounted to any 1-inch diameter bamboo pole using epoxy.
